Joab, the commander of the army, goes out with the soldiers. They fight against a city and conquer it.
At the end, David also comes and takes the crown of the defeated king.
It is a sign: the victory now belongs to Israel.
But the story does not stay with this one battle.

More battles against the Philistines follow.
This shows that life remains challenging.
Even if someone has already experienced a lot, new situations keep coming in which courage is needed.
