π The King Is Coming Soon β Hope Beyond the End
π April 9 β Looking upward: Redemption is near
Monthly theme: The signs of the times β Watching and praying
Yearly theme 2026: βSoon the King is coming β Hope beyond the endβ
π Central Bible text of the day
βWhen these things begin to happen, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.β
β Luke 21:28
π Devotional of the day
When Jesus speaks about the signs of the times,
one might expect Him to call for caution or fear.
But instead He says:
βLift up your heads.β
This is an invitation to hope.
The signs are not the end of the story β
they are the indication
that Godβs plan of redemption is about to be fulfilled.
β¨ The perspective matters
Where we look determines how we feel.
Those who only look at the problems of this world
quickly become discouraged.
But those who lift their eyes upward
find hope.
βI lift up my eyes to the mountains:
Where does my help come from?β
β Psalm 121:1
Our help does not come from this world β
it comes from God.
πΏ Hope in the midst of unrest
Jesus never promised
that the world would become calm before His return.
But He did promise
that we can find peace in the midst of unrest.
Ellen G. White wrote:
βFor believers, the signs of the times are not a cause for fear, but for joyful expectation.β
(The Great Controversy, p. 303)
ποΈ Redemption is near
The word βredemptionβ includes everything:
- Freedom from sin
- End of suffering
- Restoration of creation
- Fellowship with God
As the signs increase,
this moment draws closer.
This gives our lives direction and hope.
π A lifted head
A lowered gaze shows fear or uncertainty.
A lifted head shows confidence.
God invites us
not to live discouraged,
but in confidence.
We belong to a kingdom
that will soon be revealed.
π Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
in the midst of a restless world, I want to fix my eyes on You.
Help me not to be ruled by fear,
but by Your hope.
Strengthen my faith
and remind me that my redemption is near.
Let me live with my head lifted high
and wait with confidence for Your coming.
Amen.
