π February 24 β The New Earth: Godβs Original Plan Restored
Monthly Theme: The Great Controversy β The Conflict Between Good and Evil
Yearly Theme 2026: βSoon the King Is Coming β Hope Beyond the Endβ
π Central Bible Verse of the Day
βAnd I saw a new heaven and a new earth;
for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away.β
β Revelation 21:1
π Devotional Thought for the Day
After the end of sin, something completely new begins β
the new earth.
This is not merely a beautiful conclusion to history,
but the restoration of what God had planned for His creation from the very beginning.
Eden was never the final plan,
but a foretaste of something greater.
What was lost through sin
will now be restored in perfect glory.
βBehold, I make all things new!β
β Revelation 21:5
Ellen G. White wrote:
βThe great plan of redemption has reached its fulfillment.
All that was lost through sin has been restored.
Not only humanity, but the earth itself is redeemed.β
(The Great Controversy, p. 674)
β¨ A Home Without Pain
The new earth is not a distant dream,
but a real, renewed creation β
full of life, peace, and joy.
βAnd God will wipe away every tear from their eyes;
and there shall be no more death.β
β Revelation 21:4
No sickness,
no loneliness,
no fear anymore.
Everything that once burdened the heart will belong to the past.
Ellen White writes:
βOn the new earth there will remain no trace of the curse.
Pain and death will disappear,
and joy will fill every heart.β
(Maranatha, p. 350)
πΏ Life in Godβs Presence
The greatest gift of the new earth is not the beauty of nature,
but the immediate presence of God.
βBehold, the dwelling place of God is with humanity!
And He will dwell with them.β
β Revelation 21:3
What Moses was only allowed to see in part
will then be revealed to all:
the face of God.
βAnd they shall see His face.β
β Revelation 22:4
The separation that began in Eden is over.
God Himself lives among His people.
Ellen White describes:
βThe redeemed will freely commune with their Redeemer.
No veil will stand between God and humanity.β
(The Great Controversy, p. 676)
ποΈ Work, Joy, and Fellowship
The new earth is not a place of passive rest,
but of fulfilled life.
βThey shall build houses and inhabit them;
they shall plant vineyards and eat their fruit.β
β Isaiah 65:21
Work will be joy,
creativity an expression of worship,
fellowship free from misunderstanding and pain.
Animals will live in harmony,
nature will reflect Godβs beauty,
and every encounter will be shaped by love.
Ellen White wrote:
βThere every ability will be developed,
every desire for knowledge satisfied,
and every longing of the heart fulfilled.β
(Education, p. 304)
π The Center of Eternity β The Lamb
At the center of the new earth stands not a place,
but a Person: Jesus Christ.
βThe city has no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it,
for the glory of God gives it light,
and its lamp is the Lamb.β
β Revelation 21:23
The scars of His love remain visible β
an eternal reminder
of what it cost to bring us home.
The redeemed will never forget
that they are there by grace.
Ellen White wrote:
βThe cross of Christ will be the science and the song of the redeemed throughout all eternity.β
(The Great Controversy, p. 651)
π Prayer
Dear Father in heaven,
thank You for the promise of the new earth,
where there will be no more suffering and no more death.
Turn my eyes toward eternity
when the worries of this world weigh me down.
Help me to live today already as a citizen of Your coming kingdom β
in love, hope, and faithfulness.
Prepare my heart for the day
when I may see Your face
and dwell with You forever.
Amen.
π Thought for the Day
βThe new earth will be Godβs final answer
to the suffering of this world β
a home where love reigns forever.β
β Ellen G. White, Maranatha, p. 351
