👑 The King Is Coming Soon – Hope Beyond the End
⚖️ April 12 – Two Will Be in the Field: Personal Decision
Monthly Theme: The Signs of the Times – Watching and Praying
Yearly Theme 2026: “The King Is Coming Soon – Hope Beyond the End”
📖 Central Bible Text of the Day
“Then two will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left.”
— Matthew 24:40
🌅 Devotional of the Day
Jesus describes a very personal scene:
Two people in the same place,
in the same daily life,
with seemingly similar lives.
But in the end, there is a difference.
One is taken — the other is not.
These words show:
The decision for or against God is personal.
✨ Closeness Does Not Replace Relationship
External closeness to spiritual things
does not automatically mean a true connection with Christ.
One can:
- know the Bible
- have religious habits
- be part of a community
and still be inwardly distant.
“This people honors Me with their lips,
but their heart is far from Me.”
— Matthew 15:8
Ellen G. White wrote:
“Not outward affiliation, but personal devotion determines eternal destiny.”
(The Great Controversy, p. 601)
🌿 Each One Decides Personally
No one can believe for another.
Not family, not friends, not the church.
Faith is a personal relationship.
“So then each of us shall give account of himself to God.”
— Romans 14:12
This truth is serious —
but also liberating.
Because everyone has the opportunity to choose God.
🕊️ Today Is the Day
Jesus does not only speak about the future,
but calls for a decision today.
“Today, if you hear His voice,
do not harden your hearts.”
— Hebrews 3:15
Every day is a new opportunity,
to live consciously with God.
🌄 Being Ready in the Heart
Readiness does not mean perfection,
but a living connection with Christ.
It is a heart that says:
“Lord, I belong to You.”
Ellen G. White wrote:
“Only those who live in personal communion with Christ will be ready when He comes.”
(Maranatha, p. 227)
🙏 Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
thank You for knowing and loving me personally.
Help me not to live only outwardly,
but with all my heart with You.
Show me where I can draw closer to You,
and strengthen my decision for You.
Let my relationship with You be real and alive.
Amen.
💭 Thought for the Day
“The most important decision is the personal decision for Christ.”
— Ellen G. White
💡 Personal Application
- Read Matthew 24:36–44.
What does this passage tell you about personal responsibility? - Pray: “Lord, today I choose You again.”
- Practical: Take time today for a personal encounter with God.
🌺 Closing Verse
“Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.”
— 2 Corinthians 6:2
