📖 Central Bible Text for the Day
“And he showed me a river of the water of life, clear as crystal,
flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb.
In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river,
was the tree of life.”
— Revelation 22:1–2
🌅 Devotion for the Day
What was lost in Eden
will be fully restored on the new earth.
The Tree of Life,
from which humanity was separated after the Fall,
will once again be accessible to the redeemed.
“And the LORD God said:
… lest he reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life
and eat, and live forever.”
— Genesis 3:22
Access was barred,
not out of harshness,
but out of mercy —
so that humanity would not live forever in a state of sin.
But now sin is defeated.
The redeemed are transformed.
And the Tree of Life stands open once more.
Ellen G. White wrote:
“The tree of life that once stood in Eden
will grow again in the new earth.
Its leaves are for healing,
and its fruit will secure eternal life.”
(The Great Controversy, p. 677)
✨ The River of Life
From the throne of God flows the river of life —
clear, pure, living.
It is the symbol of unbroken fellowship
between Creator and redeemed.
“For with You is the fountain of life;
in Your light we see light.”
— Psalm 36:9
Eternal life is not merely endless time,
but infinite closeness to God.
The river flows from the throne —
which means:
life itself comes from God.
Ellen G. White wrote:
“The redeemed will drink from the water of life
that flows from the throne of God.
They will rejoice in the immediate presence of their Lord.”
(Maranatha, p. 363)
🌿 Healing of the Nations
Revelation says
that the leaves of the tree are “for the healing of the nations” (Revelation 22:2).
No longer healing from sickness,
but complete restoration of everything
that was broken by sin.
All the wounds of history,
all separations,
all misunderstandings —
will be healed.
The fellowship between God and humanity
will exist without shadow.
Ellen G. White wrote:
“Not a trace of sin will remain.
Everything that was broken
will be restored by the power of divine love.”
(The Great Controversy, p. 678)
🕊️ Eternal Fellowship
The greatest gift of the new earth
is not the tree,
not the river,
not the city —
but God Himself.
“They shall see His face.”
— Revelation 22:4
In Eden, humanity walked with God in the garden.
On the new earth, this fellowship will be perfect —
without fear,
without guilt,
without separation.
The redeemed will walk with Christ,
learn, discover, grow —
throughout all eternity.
Ellen G. White wrote:
“Communion with God will be the highest joy of the redeemed.
From eternity to eternity they will discover new depths of His love.”
(Education, p. 307)
🌄 A Life Without Curse
“And there shall be no more curse.”
— Revelation 22:3
The word “no” here is powerful.
No suffering.
No death.
No betrayal.
No pain.
Only life.
Only light.
Only love.
That is God’s final plan.
🙏 Prayer
Dear Father in heaven,
thank You for the promise of the Tree of Life
and eternal fellowship with You.
Let my heart long for Your presence
more than for anything this world can offer.
Heal today what is broken within me
and prepare me for perfect fellowship with You.
Let me drink from the water of life —
now by faith
and one day in glory.
Amen.
