👑 The King is coming soon – Hope beyond the end

📅 January 28 – The Unity of God’s People in the End Time

Monthly Theme: The Blessed Hope – Living in Expectation
Year Theme 2026: “Soon the King Is Coming – Hope Beyond the End”

📖 Central Bible Text of the Day

“I do not pray for these alone,
but also for those who will believe in Me through their word;
that they all may be one,
as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You;
that they also may be one in Us,
that the world may believe that You sent Me.”
— John 17:20–21

🌅 Devotional Thought of the Day

On His last night on earth,
Jesus did not pray for power, success, or revenge,
but for unity among His followers.
This unity was—and still is—
the strongest proof of the truth of the gospel.

When the church is one,
it reflects the very nature of God,
for within God Himself there is perfect harmony:
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—
one in essence, in love, and in purpose.

“By this everyone will know that you are My disciples,
if you have love for one another.”
— John 13:35

This unity is not human uniformity,
but the work of the Holy Spirit,
who shapes many hearts into one.

Unity in Truth

True unity is never created by compromising with error,
but by a shared surrender to the truth.

“Sanctify them by Your truth; Your word is truth.”
— John 17:17

Ellen G. White wrote:

“The unity for which Christ prayed
can exist only on the foundation of divine truth.
Whoever departs from God’s Word
cannot have true unity with Christ.”
(Testimonies for the Church, vol. 1, p. 16)

God’s people in the end time will not be united by form,
but by a shared devotion to the truth.
That truth is Christ Himself—
the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6).

Therefore, true unity never leads to confusion,
but to clarity, purity, and love.

🌿 Unity in Diversity

God calls people from all nations, languages, and cultures.
His church is a mosaic of grace.

“For as many as we are,
we are one body in Christ,
and individually members of one another.”
— Romans 12:5

Unity does not mean sameness,
but harmonious cooperation
under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Ellen White explains:

“God does not desire uniformity,
but harmony.
When every member of Christ’s body fulfills their place,
the church will be one in purpose, spirit, and work.”
(Testimonies for the Church, vol. 9, p. 188)

Every gift, every talent, every heart is needed—
not for personal honor,
but for building the kingdom of God.

🕊️ Unity in the End Time

In the time of the latter rain and the loud cry,
the unity of God’s people will be crucial.
Disunity weakens the witness,
but unity in Christ brings power
that fills the earth with the glory of God.

“Then they will all be one …
that the world may believe.”
— John 17:21

Ellen White wrote:

“When God’s people are one with Christ and with one another,
the world will be convinced of the truth.
Then the Lord will pour out His Spirit in rich abundance.”
(Gospel Workers, p. 467)

Satan’s greatest aim is division,
but God’s greatest work is restoration.
Therefore Christ calls us today:
“Be one in love and truth!”

🌄 The Unity of Heaven

The unity that begins on earth
will be completed in heaven.
There the redeemed from all ages,
languages, and peoples
will praise God in perfect harmony.

“After this I looked, and behold,
a great multitude which no one could number,
of all nations, tribes, peoples, and languages,
standing before the throne and before the Lamb.”
— Revelation 7:9

Ellen G. White describes:

“In heaven there will be no more discord, no strife, no pride.
All will be one in love and praise,
united in Christ, their eternal King.”
(The Great Controversy, p. 678)

The unity that will be eternal there
must begin here—
in our hearts, in our families, and in the church.

🙏 Prayer

Father in heaven,
teach me to be one with You and with my brothers and sisters.

Remove from my heart
everything that creates division, pride, or bitterness.

Fill me with Your Spirit of love and humility.

Make me an instrument of Your unity,
so that the world may believe
that You have sent Your Son.

Amen.

💭 Thought for the Day

“The unity of God’s people is the strongest testimony to the world
that Christ truly is the Savior.”
— Ellen G. White, Maranatha, p. 223

💡 Personal Application

Read John 17 and Ephesians 4:1–6.
Ask God to show you the beauty of spiritual unity.

Pray: “Lord, show me today whom I should make peace with.”

Practically:
Take one step toward reconciliation.
A call, a prayer, an open word—
this is the beginning of true unity.

🌺 Closing Verse

“Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit
through the bond of peace.”
— Ephesians 4:3
