✨ David’s last words to Solomon
🌅 Introduction
David has grown old. He looks back on his life and remembers everything he has experienced: struggles, victories, serious mistakes, important decisions, and many special encounters with God.
Now he knows that his time as king is coming to an end. But before he goes, he wants to pass on something important. He is not thinking only about himself, but about the future. That is why he calls not only his son Solomon, but also the most important people of the nation.

📣 A great assembly
David has the leaders, chiefs, and officials from all Israel gathered together. Everyone assembles to hear what the king wants to say to them.
It is easy to imagine how it gradually becomes quiet as David begins to speak. Everyone knows: these are not ordinary words. This is a special moment.
🏠 David’s desire
David tells them about his great desire. He would have loved to build a temple for God, a permanent place where people could meet God.
A place that is beautiful and strong.
A place that shows: God is in the midst of us.
But God had told him that he was not to build this temple.
👨👦 The mission for Solomon
Instead, God had chosen someone else: his son Solomon.
Solomon is to build the temple.
David says this openly before everyone. That makes it clear: now a new time begins. A new generation takes over the task.
🙏 A personal moment
Then David turns directly to his son. Now he speaks not only as king, but as a father.
He encourages him and says: “Get to know God. Serve Him with all your heart.”
These are not harsh commands. They are words full of love, full of experience, and full of trust.
⚠️ An important warning
But David also speaks honestly about responsibility.
He explains to Solomon that it is important to remain with God. If he stays faithful to God, his path will be good. But if he turns away from God, things will become difficult.
With this, David shows: decisions are important. The path with God is not something that just happens on its own. It must be chosen consciously.
🏗️ The plan for the temple
Then David gives his son something very special.
He hands him an exact plan for the temple. Everything is prepared. David has thought through many details.
He explains what the temple should look like, what is needed, and how everything can be built.
With this he shows his son: “You are not alone. I have already prepared much for you.”
🌟 God will help
At the end David says something that is even more important than all the plans:
“Do not be afraid. God is with you.”
He gives Solomon courage and reminds him that he does not have to rely only on himself. God will go with him and help him.
🤝 Support from every side
David also explains that many people are ready to help.
The leaders, the workers, and the priests – all of them will support Solomon.
This makes it clear: great tasks are not fulfilled alone. Other people are needed to help.
🌅 What this chapter shows
This chapter is something very special. It shows a transition.
One generation goes.
A new one begins.
And in the middle of this transition stand important things:
Trusting God, taking responsibility, and moving forward courageously.
