and ends with amazement.

📖 The Besieged City
The city of Samaria was surrounded by enemies.
The Arameans stood outside with their army.
No one could go in.
No one could go out.
Over time, food became scarce.
Very scarce.
Prices rose.
People suffered.
The hunger grew worse and worse.
The king was desperate.
And many people blamed God.
But the prophet Elisha said:
“Thus says the Lord:
Tomorrow at this time
there will be enough food again.”
A high official of the king laughed mockingly.
“Even if the Lord made windows in heaven —
how could that happen?”
Elisha answered calmly:
“You will see it —
but you will not eat from it.”
🚪 Four Men at the Gate
Outside the city sat four leprous men.
They were not allowed inside the city.
And outside was the enemy army.
They were in a terrible situation.
One said:
“Why sit here until we die?
If we go into the city, we will die of hunger.
If we stay here, we will also die.
So let us go to the camp of the Arameans.
If they kill us — we die.
If they let us live — we live.”
They had nothing to lose.
When evening came,
they set out.
👂 A Strange Sound
But what they did not know:
God had done something that night.
He had caused the Arameans to hear a sound —
like the rattling of many chariots,
like the trampling of many horses,
like a huge army.
The Arameans were terrified.
“The king of Israel has hired foreign armies against us!”
In panic they fled.
They left everything behind:
tents, clothes, silver, gold —
and lots of food.
🍇 An Incredible Discovery
When the four men entered the camp,
it was silent.
No soldier.
No guard.
Carefully they went into a tent.
There they found food.
They ate.
They drank.
They took silver and gold
and hid it.
Then they went into another tent.
And another one.
Suddenly they stopped.
One said:
“This is not right.
Today is a day of good news —
and we are silent!
If we wait, we will be guilty.
Come, let us go into the city
and report it.”
They did not think only of themselves.
They wanted to share the good news.
📣 The Good News
They called out to the gatekeepers:
“The camp of the Arameans is empty!
No one is there!
Everything is still there!”
The message was brought to the king.
At first he did not believe it.
“This must be a trap,” he thought.
He sent some men to check.
And it was true.
The road was full of abandoned things.
The camp was deserted.
🎉 Sudden Abundance
Then the people rushed out of the city.
They gathered food.
They gathered supplies.
And just as Elisha had said,
the prices dropped.
There was enough for everyone.
But the mocking officer,
who had not believed God’s word,
was trampled at the gate in the crowd.
He saw the miracle —
but he could not eat from it.

A city was starving.
Everything seemed lost.
But God intervened —
invisibly and powerfully.
Four men discovered the miracle.
And they shared the good news.
What seemed impossible
happened overnight.

Sometimes your life feels like a “besieged city.”
Maybe you have worries.
Maybe nothing seems to get better.
But God can act suddenly.
And when you have good news —
don’t keep it to yourself.
