Imagine you are sitting comfortably and someone opens a very old book. The pages rustle softly, and you see: there are so many names written in it. At first, you might think: “This must be boring.” But then someone begins to tell the story – and suddenly you realize: behind every name there is a real story.
And that is exactly what this chapter is like. It is like a great journey back to the beginning – right to the very beginning of humanity.
📖 The biblical story
👣 The first human being
The story begins with Adam. He was the first human being created by God. God formed him with great love and gave him life. Adam lived in a beautiful world where everything was good. There was no conflict, no fear, and no pain.
But people did not listen to God. They wanted to go their own way. And so the world gradually became more difficult. But even though people made mistakes, God did not abandon them. He stayed with them.
🌊 A new beginning with Noah
Many years later, the world was full of injustice. People lived without God and did many evil things. But there was one man who was different: Noah.
Noah trusted God. And God saved him and his family through the great flood. After that, everything began anew. Imagine: a world starting completely fresh!
Noah had three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth. From them, humanity spread again across the whole earth. All the people who lived later came from these families.
🌍 The earth is filled
Over time, more and more people came. Families grew, children were born, and small groups became great nations. People moved to different lands, built cities, and developed their own languages.
It was as if the whole world was slowly unfolding – like a big picture forming piece by piece.
But not everyone remembered God. Many went their own ways. Some became proud, others forgot who had given them life.
But God did not forget them.
🏜️ God sees everything
Even though so many people lived and the world kept filling up, God knew each individual. Every name in this chapter is important to Him.
It may sound like a long list – but for God it is a story full of life. He sees every family, every child, every generation.
And in the middle of all these people, God begins something very special.
🌟 A man named Abraham
Then a name appears that changes everything: Abraham.
He was not a king or a famous hero. He was simply a person willing to trust God.
And God spoke to him. He promised that a great nation would come from him. A people who would play an important role in God’s plan.
Abraham believed God – even when he could not yet see how it would all happen.
👨👩👦 A special family begins
Abraham had a son: Isaac. Isaac had a son: Jacob. And Jacob had many children.
From this family came the people of Israel.
Looking back now, you realize: all these names are like a chain. Each one belongs. Each one is part of the story that God is writing.
And this story continues.
🌅 Why this is important
This chapter does not tell great adventures. There are no battles or miracles that immediately stand out.
But it shows something very important: God works through many generations. He is patient. He remains faithful. And He does not forget a single person.

The story begins with Adam, continues through Noah and his sons, and finally comes to Abraham and his family.
Many names – but one great truth: God builds His story step by step.
