“Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.”
Psalm 25:4โ€“5

๐ŸŒฟ Introduction

Do you know the feeling of not knowing whatโ€™s next? School, friendships, future, decisions, faith โ€“ sometimes life feels like a confusing web of roads with no signs. Thatโ€™s exactly the kind of moment David faced when he cried out in Psalm 25: โ€œLord, show me the way!โ€

This prayer is still so relevant today. Whether you know exactly where youโ€™re going โ€“ or feel completely lost โ€“ God offers to be your GPS.

โœจ Devotional – Trust Instead of Getting Lost

David, who wrote this Psalm, wasnโ€™t a beginner at life โ€“ but he wasnโ€™t a hero without doubts either. He knew failure, fear, and hard decisions. And yet (or maybe because of that!), he prayed: โ€œLord, show me your ways.โ€

David doesnโ€™t just ask for help โ€“ he asks for guidance:

  • โ€œShow me your waysโ€ โ€“ Not just any path, but yours, God!

  • โ€œTeach me your pathsโ€ โ€“ I donโ€™t just want to rush ahead; I want to learn how you think.

  • โ€œGuide me in your truthโ€ โ€“ I donโ€™t want to be led by fake news or opinions.

  • โ€œFor you are God my Saviorโ€ โ€“ You save, not me.

  • โ€œMy hope is in you all day longโ€ โ€“ I wait for you, even when you take your time.

These lines show us: Faith doesnโ€™t mean having all the answers. It means knowing whom to trust.

๐Ÿ“ Story โ€“ The Girl and the Compass

Picture this: A girl is on a multi-day hike with her youth group through a forest. Sheโ€™s enthusiastic but not very experienced. On the third day, she and two friends decide to take a shortcut. They leave the marked trail โ€“ and get lost.

Evening falls. Thereโ€™s no phone reception. Panic sets in. But one of the girls has a tiny compass in her backpack โ€“ a gift from her grandpa. With some effort and an old map on a water bottle, they find their way โ€“ and hours later, they finally return to the cabin.

The leaders later say, โ€œYou got lucky.โ€
But the girl knows: Without that compass, we wouldโ€™ve been lost.

God is like that compass in your life: He points you in the right direction when youโ€™re lost. He may not show you the whole map โ€“ but He shows you enough to take the next step.

๐Ÿง  What does this mean for you?

  • Are there questions in your life you donโ€™t have answers to?

  • Are there decisions you keep putting off?

  • Are your plans falling apart โ€“ and youโ€™re wondering, โ€œWhy?โ€

David encourages you: Talk to God. Ask Him for direction.
Not because youโ€™re weak โ€“ but because youโ€™re wise enough to trust Him.

๐Ÿ’ก Impulses for Today

  • Ask for Godโ€™s direction today โ€“ not just your own ideas.

  • Read a few Bible verses before making big decisions.

  • Talk to a trusted Christian if you feel lost.

  • Practice waiting โ€“ trust doesnโ€™t grow on fast-forward.

  • Make God your GPS โ€“ not just your emergency contact.

๐Ÿ™ Prayer

Lord,
you see my heart, my thoughts, my uncertainties.
So often, I donโ€™t know which way to go.
Show me your path โ€“ even if itโ€™s different from mine.
Teach me to listen to you, to trust you, and to wait patiently.
Be my compass in the dark, my GPS in the chaos, and my voice in the noise.
I want to follow you โ€“ not just when itโ€™s easy.
Thank you that you are the God of my salvation.
Amen.
