โจย Devotional
In His High Priestly Prayer, Jesus intercedes not only for His first disciples but for each of us today.
-
Sanctification through truth
โ To โsanctifyโ means to set apart for Godโs purposes, cleansing us from all that is impure.
โ This purification doesnโt come by religious rituals but through Godโs truth. -
Godโs Word as our standard
โ In a culture constantly offering new ideals and identities, Godโs Word is our unchanging compass.
โ Every statement in Scripture reflects Godโs character and opens our eyes to His eternal nature. -
Personal transformation
โ Reading Godโs Word does more than impart information: it penetrates our thoughts and actions (Hebrews 4:12).
โ Honesty before God involves exposing our lies and refuge in falsehood and exchanging them for His truth. -
Community in truth
โ Jesus prays not only for individuals but for a community united in truth.
โ A genuine church speaks the truth of Godโs Wordโand offers loving correction and practical help in daily life.

๐ Story โ โThe Invisible Ink Eraserโ
Lea discovered an old notebook in the library filled with handwritten notes. On the first page, in faded ink, she read:
โWith parchment ink eraser, you can make anything invisible.โ
Intrigued, she tried it in her own diary, writing down embarrassing thoughts. Then she applied the eraserโand the words vanished. Relieved, she set the notebook aside.
The next morning at youth group, the pastor said: โWhat we try to erase often resurfacesโnot only in our thoughts but in our relationships.โ He opened his Bible to John 17:17: โSanctify them in the truth; your word is truth.โ
Lea felt a pang in her chest. All the thoughts sheโd hiddenโher self-doubts, fears, and small sinsโwere only made invisible, not erased. In that moment she realized: only Godโs Word can truly cleanse us.
After the service, she confided in a friend what she had written. Instead of judging her, her friend listened, prayed with her, and read Psalm 51:8: โWash meโฆand I shall be whiter than snow.โ Lea embraced Godโs promise: her heart was freedโnot by an ink eraser, but by the holy truth of Scripture.

๐ Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You for praying for me: โSanctify me in Your truth.โ I confess all that I tried to hide with my โink eraserโโmy doubts, guilt, and fears. Deliver me through Your Word and reshape my thoughts and actions. Help me to root myself in You and let Your truth shine into every corner of my heart. Amen.
