๐ฟ Introduction
Many of us live in a world that continually awakens new longings in us: the latest smartphone, the next vacation, the perfect Instagram โlike.โ Yet despite all these temptations, often there remains a hollow in our hearts. Psalm 73:25 reminds us that only God can truly satisfy and fill usโnow and forever.

โจย Devotional
The author of Psalm 73 was tempted to envy the rich and successful. He saw them living carefree lives, seemingly untroubled by fear of God. But the closer he looked, the more he discovered a void beneath their polished exterior: sickness, disappointment, loneliness all lay hidden under their glittering veneer.
In verse 25 comes the turning point: it is not the fleeting pleasures of this world that satisfy his deepest longing, but Godโs presence alone. โWhom have I in heaven but you?โโhe realizes that no person, no achievement, no possession can replace that nearness. โAnd there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you.โ This does not mean that material blessing is inherently bad, but that it must never become our highest aim. Our hearts only find true freedom when we place God first.
Wisdom arises when we align our deepest needs with the nature of God Himself. God does not merely offer answers to our questionsโHe becomes our truest goal. In an age that offers distraction and diversion at every turn, this verse calls us back to simplicity: to have enough in Godโs presence.

๐ Story โ โThe Lost Starfishโ
Anna and Lukas went on a youth group trip to the seaside. As they strolled along, the teens carefully gathered colorful starfish nestled among the rocks. Suddenly Lukas slipped and accidentally pulled a small net into the wavesโinside was a lone, living starfish.
While Lukas frantically tried to retrieve the net, Anna sank inward: โItโs all or nothingโI canโt just leave it behind!โ But the surf was too strong, and the net drifted away. Disappointed, she returned to the beach shelter.
That evening, as the group gathered around the campfire, Lukas shared how he had stood alone on a bluff overlooking the sea while Anna watched the net. Gazing out, he felt a deep peaceโeven without the starfish. โI realized my joy didnโt depend on saving that little creature, but on the moment with you all, on the vastness before me, and on God who gives me breath.โ
In that moment, Anna understood: her heart was not bound to the starfish but to a longing for fulfillment. And she discovered that fulfillment not by rescuing an animal but in experiencing community and in the quiet where she felt Godโs closeness.

๐ Prayer
Lord, you are my deepest longing and my truest peace. Thank you that you see me and know my needs. Help me to fix my heart on you each day, not on the fleeting promises of this world. Grant me the courage to let go of what separates me from you and to find my joy solely in your presence. Amen.
