✨ Introduction

What is your life built on?
When everything starts to shakeβ€”friends, plans, your self‐imageβ€”what remains?
God says through Isaiah:

β€œI lay a foundation stoneβ€”tested, precious, supportive.”

That foundation stone is Jesus.
Not only your Savior, but your bedrock when everything else fails.

β€œJesus is the only sure foundation.
All who build on Him will stand firm in the time of trial.”
β€” Ellen White, The Desire of Ages, p. 599

πŸ‘Ÿ Story: Tim & the Pressure

Tim, 18. Athletic, popular, successful. From the outside everything looked perfectβ€”
but inside: thin ice.
Pressure from school, training, parents’ expectations.
Then: a breakdown during a competition.

In rehab, a counselor asks him:

β€œWhat’s left when everything collapses?”

Tim has no answer.

The counselor reads Isaiah 28:16:

β€œGod lays a solid foundation stoneβ€”Jesus. Whoever trusts in Him stands.”

Tim starts to think.
He realizes: what was supposed to hold him upβ€”approval, likes, performanceβ€”wasn’t holding him at all.
He decides:
No more show. No more masks. A real foundation.

β€œWhen we build our lives on Christ, it will stand through the storm.
No storm can destroy the house built on the rock.”
β€” Ellen White, Thoughts from the Mount of Blessing, p. 151

🌱 What Does This Mean for You?

Jesus never promised there would be no crisesβ€”
but that you don’t have to run away when they come.

You are not called to be perfect.
You are called to standβ€”on Him.

β€œGod’s truth is a solid foundation.
Whoever builds on it will not be shaken.”
β€” Ellen White, Christ’s Object Lessons, p. 54

🧠 Questions for Reflection

β€’ What is my true foundation?
β€’ Am I building on Christβ€”or only on what others say about me?
β€’ Where do I run instead of standing?

πŸ™ Prayer

Lord, I no longer want to build on sand.
I want to stand on Youβ€”the rock that remains.
When things inside me shake, give me steadiness in You.
Show me what genuine faith looks likeβ€”
not religious, but honest and deep.
Amen.
