👑 The King is coming soon – Hope beyond the end

📅 January 26 – The Loud Cry and the Final Invitation

Monthly theme: The Blessed Hope — Living in Expectation
Year theme 2026: “Soon the King Is Coming — Hope Beyond the End”

📖 Central Bible Text of the Day

“Then I saw another angel coming down from heaven,
having great authority,
and the earth was illuminated with his glory.
And he cried mightily with a loud voice, saying,
‘Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen!’”
— Revelation 18:1–2

🌅 Devotional of the Day

In the final hour of world history,
God’s truth will be proclaimed with unprecedented power.
This movement is called in the Bible “the loud cry”
a repetition and strengthening of the second angel’s message
from Revelation 14.

Heaven calls the whole earth
to separate from confusion and deception
and to step into the light of truth.

“Come out of her, my people,
lest you share in her sins,
and lest you receive of her plagues!”
Revelation 18:4

It is the last invitation of a loving God,
who does everything possible
to lead every person to salvation
before the door of grace closes.

The Light That Fills the Earth

The “other angel” in Revelation 18 symbolizes
a worldwide movement
filled with the power of the Holy Spirit.
The gospel will be proclaimed with such clarity and power
that the whole earth will be lit up by God’s glory.

“And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world
as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.”
Matthew 24:14

Ellen G. White wrote:

“The great outpouring of the Holy Spirit,
which fills the earth with the glory of God,
will be the work of the loud cry.
There will be a revival of true godliness
such as has not been seen since apostolic times.”
(The Great Controversy, p. 611)

The “loud cry” is not a human campaign,
but a work of heaven
that transforms hearts
and leads millions to Christ.

🌿 A Final Call of Grace

God calls His people out of Babylon—
out of systems of deception,
out of religious confusion,
out of the chaos of human authority.

Ellen White explains:

“Babylon is the symbol of apostate Christianity,
which has mixed truth with error.
The call ‘Come out of her’ means
that God’s people are to separate from false teachings
and unite with the pure faith of the gospel.”
(The Great Controversy, p. 382)

This is not a call of condemnation,
but of rescue.
God calls before He judges.
He calls with tears before He disciplines.

“As I live,’ says the Lord GOD,
‘I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked,
but that the wicked turn from his way and live.’”
Ezekiel 33:11

🕊️ The Work of the Holy Spirit

In the time of the loud cry,
the latter rain of the Holy Spirit will be poured out (Joel 3:1–2).
The gospel will be proclaimed with such power
that even in dark places the light will shine.

Ellen G. White wrote:

“Servants of God, sanctified by the truth,
will speak with holy boldness.
Thousands of voices in all languages
will proclaim the last warning.”
(The Great Controversy, p. 612)

It will not be a quiet movement,
but a worldwide spiritual awakening.
Many who are undecided today
will then take their stand on God’s side.

🌄 The Final Decision

When the loud cry sounds,
every heart will make its final choice.
The time of grace will soon end,
and Christ will come to redeem His people.

“He who is holy, let him be holy still;
he who is filthy, let him be filthy still.”
Revelation 22:11

Ellen White describes:

“The time of probation closes
when the work of grace in human hearts is complete.
Then the sentence is pronounced,
and Christ lays aside His intercession.”
(The Great Controversy, p. 490)

That is why the call is so urgent now.
Today is the time of decision.
Today is the day of salvation.

🙏 Prayer

Eternal Father,
thank You for Your final invitation of grace.

Fill my heart with Your Spirit,
so that I may reflect the light of Your truth.

Help me to stand courageously and remain faithful
when the world rises up against You.

Let me be a tool in Your hand
to call others into the light of Your kingdom.

Amen.

💭 Thought for the Day

“The loud cry will go forth through people
who are filled with the love of Christ.
Their words will be carried by the power of the Holy Spirit,
and the earth will be illuminated by the brightness of the truth.”
Ellen G. White, Maranatha, p. 190
