π The King is coming soon β Hope beyond the end
π March 24 β Godβs Word remains despite destroyed temples
Monthly theme: Daniel: The God who directs history β faithfulness in the fire of testing
Yearly theme 2026: βSoon the King is coming β hope beyond the endβ
π Central Bible text of the day
βThe grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever.β
β Isaiah 40:8
π Devotional for the day
When Daniel was taken to Babylon,
the temple in Jerusalem had been destroyed.
The visible center of faith lay in ruins.
For many, this would have meant:
God has abandoned us.
But Daniel discovered something crucial:
even when buildings are destroyed,
Godβs Word remains.
βI, Daniel, understood from the books the number of the yearsβ¦β
β Daniel 9:2
In the midst of exile, he held fast to Scripture.
There he found hope and direction.
β¨ Godβs presence is not bound to places
The temple was destroyed β
but Godβs presence had not disappeared.
Daniel prayed,
and heaven responded.
Ellen G. White wrote:
βAlthough the temple lay in ruins, Godβs presence remained with those who sought Him in faith.β
(Prophets and Kings, p. 554)
Godβs Word sustains even
when external securities collapse.
πΏ The power of the promise
Daniel studied the words of Jeremiah and realized
that Godβs promises are trustworthy.
Scripture was his spiritual home.
βYour word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.β
β Psalm 119:105
Even today we experience change and uncertainty.
But Godβs Word remains unchanged.
ποΈ When securities fall
Sometimes things are destroyed
that we relied on β
plans, relationships, habits.
Daniel shows:
faith does not depend on outward circumstances,
but on Godβs promises.
Ellen G. White wrote:
βWhoever builds on the Word of God finds a rock that cannot be shaken.β
(Maranatha, p. 25)
π The Word leads to hope
Through studying Scripture, Daniel did not become passive,
but was moved to prayer and surrender.
Godβs Word does not only inform β
it transforms.
It directs our gaze to the coming King
and to the kingdom that cannot be destroyed.
π Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
thank You for Your eternal Word that remains when everything else passes away.
Help me not to build my hope on external securities,
but on Your promises.
Let Your Word be my light and my strength
in uncertain times.
Teach me to trust in You like Daniel,
even when much around me is falling apart.
Amen.
