📍 Introduction
In 2 Chronicles chapter 6, Solomon stands before the people and before God. The temple has been built, the presence of God can be felt — but now something decisive follows: a prayer. It is a moment of surrender, petition, and spiritual orientation.

🧵 Commentary
Solomon stands before the altar, before the whole people. It is not a private moment, but a public prayer. A king who bows before God — that alone is already a powerful sign.
He begins with gratitude. He acknowledges that God has fulfilled His promises. What David began has now become reality.
But then his gaze goes deeper.
Solomon knows that no building can truly contain God. Heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain Him — how much less this house. And yet he asks God to choose this place in order to listen there.
His prayer becomes concrete. He names situations in which people fail, suffer, or find themselves in need. Again and again, he returns to one request:
When they cry out to You — then hear.
It is about guilt and forgiveness.
About defeats and restoration.
About drought, illness, and crises.
About people turning back to God.
Solomon does not think only of perfect moments, but of real life — with all its highs and lows.
He even thinks of foreigners who will seek this place. The prayer opens beyond Israel. It shows that God’s house is to be a place for all who seek Him.
At the end stands a plea for God’s abiding presence. Not only for that moment, but also for the future.

After the victory over the Cushites, God sends another message to Asa. The victory must not lead to self-confidence, but to a deeper relationship with God.

🧵 Commentary
The prophet Azariah comes to meet Asa. His words are simple and powerful: “The Lord is with you while you are with Him.”
This message deeply moves the king. He recognizes that reform does not happen only once. Again and again, the people must return anew to God.
As a result, more idols are removed. People from Judah and even from the northern kingdom gather in Jerusalem. Together they renew their covenant with God.
It is a time of spiritual joy. It is not political strength, but God’s presence, that gives the people peace.
