πΆ April 25 β The Narrow Door: The Path to Life
Monthly Theme: The Signs of the Times β Watch and Pray
Year Theme 2026: βSoon the King Is Coming β Hope Beyond the Endβ
π Central Bible Text of the Day
βEnter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destructionβ¦ and many enter through it.β
β Matthew 7:13
π Devotional of the Day
Jesus speaks of two paths.
Not of many possibilities,
not of countless variations β
but of a clear decision.
One path is broad, comfortable, and easy to walk.
Many take it, often without much thought.
The other path is narrow.
It requires attention, decision, and sometimes sacrifice.
And yet, it is this path that leads to life.
β¨ The Invitation to Decide
The narrow door is not an obstacle,
but an invitation.
It invites us to enter consciously.
Not simply to follow the crowd,
but to stop and choose.
βI have set before you life and deathβ¦ therefore choose life.β
β Deuteronomy 30:19
God forces no one.
But He calls everyone.
Ellen G. White wrote:
βThe path to life is open to all, but only a few choose it deliberately.β
(Steps to Christ, p. 43)
πΏ Why the Path Is Narrow
The narrow path is not narrow
because God wants to make life difficult for us.
It is narrow
because it leads through a transformed heart.
It requires:
- Letting go of false securities
- Trust instead of control
- Surrender instead of self-determination
And precisely in this lies its depth.
ποΈ A Path with Christ
The narrow path is not a lonely path.
Jesus Himself is the way.
βI am the way and the truth and the life.β
β John 14:6
It is not about creating a path,
but about following Him.
Step by step.
Day by day.
Ellen G. White wrote:
βThe way to heaven is a path of daily surrender and constant trust in Christ.β
(Maranatha, p. 134)
π Life with Purpose
The broad path ends in loss.
The narrow path in life.
But this life does not begin only in eternity.
It begins now β
in a living relationship with God.
A life with depth.
A life sustained.
A life that knows hope.
π Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
thank You for inviting me to walk the path of life.
Help me to make conscious decisions for You,
even when they are not always easy.
Give me the courage to walk the narrow path
and to trust in You.
Lead me step by step
and hold me firmly in Your hand.
Amen.
π Thought for the Day
βThe narrow path is not the easiest, but it is the only one that leads to life.β
β Ellen G. White
π‘ Personal Application
- Read Matthew 7:13β14 and John 14:6.
What does it practically mean to follow Jesus? - Pray: βLord, today I choose Your way.β
- Practical: Make a conscious decision today that reflects your faith.
πΊ Closing Verse
βThe LORD knows the way of the righteous.β
β Psalm 1:6
