🏗️ Building a House for God
🤝 Preparation, cooperation, and a great goal
🌐 Read online here
📍 Introduction
After his decision for wisdom, Solomon begins to act. In 2 Chronicles chapter 2, the focus is on the preparation of a great project: the building of the temple. But before anything visible is created, everything begins with planning, cooperation, and a clear focus on God.

🧵 Commentary
Solomon understood that the temple is more than a building. It is a place meant to reflect God’s greatness. Yet at the same time, he also realizes: no house can truly contain God.
This tension is remarkable. On the one hand, the desire to build something great for God — on the other, the awareness that God is greater than anything humans can create.
Solomon begins the preparations. He organizes workers, gathers materials, and plans carefully. But he does not do it alone. He seeks help from Hiram, the king of Tyre.
Here, cooperation arises beyond boundaries. People from different backgrounds work together toward one goal. It shows: God’s work can be greater than a single nation or individual.
A special point is the selection of a skilled craftsman. It is not only about quantity, but about quality. Every contribution matters when it is done with dedication.
The chapter is marked by preparation. The temple is not yet built — but everything is directed toward it. It shows that great works often begin long before they become visible.

📘 Blog 2: 🕊️ The Anointing of a Young King
👶 A Calling Despite Inexperience
📍 Introduction
Solomon is appointed king during David’s lifetime — young, inexperienced, and with a great task ahead of him.
⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯◆⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯
🧵 Commentary
David knows that leadership requires more than strength or political skill. His son is not only to rule, but also to be an example. A king after God’s own heart is defined by character, not just by power.
In his final words, David places special emphasis on inner attitude: courage, mercy, and reverence for God. His own experiences — victories as well as failures — have taught him how crucial a life in God’s ways is.
Thus Solomon stands at a turning point. He inherits not only a kingdom, but also a spiritual responsibility. Expectations are high, yet at the same time he is shown a path that can sustain him.
